Mr. Dutreil is President & CEO of Belleville Solutions, an investment company which invests in Lifestyle brands. As such, he created Tigre Blanc Vodka, a super-premium brand produced in the Cognac region of France. Mr. Dutreil is renowned internationally as an ardent advocate of national artisanal and luxury French traditions. Mr. Dutreil has the rare distinction of having received the prestigious Chevalier de la Legion d'Honneur, the utmost French Decoration, for his contribution to the promotion of French heritage.
Mr. Dutreil was chairman of LVMH Moכt Hennessy Louis Vuitton Inc., North America from 2008 to 2012. During this time he improved the support functions of the group in all departments ranging from Finance to Human Resources, promoting substantive corporate citizenship, raising the profile of the many LVMH brands, and developing and supporting the emergence of young American artistic talents. While at LVMH, Mr. Dutreil actively promoted the LVMH commitment to corporate and environmental responsibility. In early 2009, he created the Bike In Style challenge, a partnership with The Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City, the Department of
Transportation (DOT), and the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT). In 2010, he initiated The Art of Craftsmanship Revisited: New York to raise awareness of artisanry and its relation to the historic traditions of LVMH brands. The project paired design and film students with local New York City artisans to create works inspired by the world of the artisans and LVMH brands. He was instrumental in the Marina Abramovic restrospective at the MOMA.
Mr. Dutreil is a graduate of ֹcole Normale Superieure (ENS) and ֹcole Nationale
d’Administration (ENA) in Paris. Mr. Dutreil served in the highest offices of French government for over 15 years, beginning at the French Council of State (1989-1993). As a Member of Parliament (1994-2008), his ministerial appointments included Minister of Small & Medium- Sized Businesses, Commerce, Crafts and Liberal Professions (2005-2007), Minister of the Civil Service and State Reform (2004-2005) and Secretary of State for Small & Medium-Sized Businesses, Commerce, Crafts and Liberal Professions (2002-2004).
Mr. Dutreil is a member of the advisory board of AHALife.com, the leading curated marketplace for unique and undiscovered brand. He also serves on the board of the Maison Franחaise of Columbia University and on the advisory board of the Culture Shed. He is chairman of the Librairie Francaise in New York. A strong advocate of national artisanal traditions, he co-authored Le Geste et La Parole des Métiers d’Art, an important reference work on the subject. Mr. Dutreil lives in New York with his wife and children.
Mr. Dutreil has been a member of the Parsons Board of Governors and a Trustee of The New School since 2010.
