Marco López served as one of the youngest mayors in the United States, being elected in 2000 in Nogales, Arizona, the largest border town in the state. From City Hall, Marco went on to work at the Arizona State Capitol under then Governor Janet Napolitano, moving quickly through the ranks from Executive Director of the Arizona-Mexico Commission to Director of Commerce for the state of Arizona. At the federal level, Marco led the largest law enforcement agency of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Customs and Border Protection (CBP), as Chief of Staff. Marco served as an adviser to current Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto’s successful campaign. Currently, Marco is President and CEO of International Business Solutions, an international business development firm focused on providing cross-border solutions to domestic and foreign entities. Additionally, Marco leads U.S. efforts for Latin America’s largest and most important philanthropic organization, the Carlos Slim Foundation, and its affiliate companies.
