Lisa has served as a trustee of the Roger S. Firestone Foundation (RSFF) since 1990. From 1997-2013, Lisa served as the Treasurer for RSFF and as a member of the investment committee. In 1997, Lisa founded the Lisa S. Firestone Charitable Fund, which merged in 2011 to become the Firestone von Winterfeldt Family Fund.
Lisa continues a long history of family philanthropy originating with the Firestone Foundation whose most visible gift is the “Harvey S. Firestone Memorial Library,” the central library of Princeton University and one of the largest university libraries in the world. Lisa is a cum laude graduate of Princeton University.
Lisa served on the Los Angeles Challengers Boys & Girls Club board of directors from 1997-2013. In 2012, Lisa received the “Mark Dantzler Champion of Youth Award” honoring her years of service. RSFF seeded the invested reserves for the club and provided many other grants over the years.
In partnership with Lou Dantzler, Founder of Challengers, and Ferdie Wandelt, Former Director of Admissions for The Taft School, Lisa co-created the Lou Dantzler - Taft Summer School scholarship award program. Every year since 2005, two Challenger’s teenagers (Dantzler scholars) have attended Taft’s summer school on full scholarship.
Lisa served on The Taft School (Watertown, CT) board of trustees and served as a member of the board’s investment committee from 2008-2011 and served as a trustee from 1993-1997.
Lisa currently serves on the board of trustees, and as a member of the investment committee, for the African Wildlife Foundation based in Nairobi, Kenya, and serves on the board of trustees for the Sun Valley Film Festival.
In her spare time, Lisa likes to write, travel, scuba dive and ski. Lisa and her husband Caspar recently enjoyed a conservation and shark diving expedition in Cuba with a delegation led by Ann Luskey and the Ocean Foundation.
