Mr. Danny Federman / Owner, Maccabi Tel Aviv Basketball Club
Born in London and raised both in Israel and the UK, Danny has gained extensive and diversified experience and knowledge in a wide range of fields starting from international sports business, management, entrepreneurship, technologies, financial investments, mergers and acquisitions, commodities trading to e-commerce.
He has degrees in both BA in business administration and LLB, specializing in finance.
Danny’s family's involvement with Maccabi has started since 1938 when his grandfather was the captain of the team and followed with the family’s financial support of the team since the early 1980's until the club officially privatized and they became owners in 1995.
In the last 10 years he has been leading the organization and representing Maccabi in Euroleague board and committees, amongst others the CBO (Chief Business Officers) Committee which is responsible for developing the league's and clubs' business.
Danny is currently developing Israel's first privately owned Sport and Entertainment complex which will include a 20,000 seat Arena and a convention and exhibition center to host Israel's largest indoor sports and entertainment events.
Between 2011 – 2015 Danny served as Maccabi's CEO. During that time the club has won its' 6th European title in almost 40 years. While serving as CEO he opened Maccabi's first international office based in NY which developed Maccabi's brand and relationships in the US and with the NBA following with playing games in NYC (MSG), Brooklyn (Barclays Center), Cleveland (Quicken loans Arena) and Chicago (United Center), taking part in the NBA NY All Star weekend with Maccabi's junior players and hosting the NBA BWB (Basketball Without Borders) in Tel Aviv.
Danny is currently leading a new Israeli Sportech VC fund. In his role in Maccabi, he has overseen an enormous sportech deal flow of Israeli companies which Maccabi has supported, partnered, helped with design and acted as a beta site.
